Tafel Wedding

The source of the picture was an old photo album owned by John F. Tafel of Philadelphia. John received the album from his father Leonard Immanuel Tafel and his Uncle, Louis Leonard Tafel. Both Leonard and Louis were sons of Louis Herman Tafel.The reverse side of the picture is shown below. The photographer was George Eichler.

2.       Cream/white card stock w/narrow white/gold banding, square corners approx 1860-1870

3.       George Eichler, Manhattan photographer, in business approx 1870-1900

4.       Long flowing hair w/top curls on women; side part on men’s hair, full beards – approx.1870-1880

5.       Large buttons, high neck w/ruffles, bell sleeves w/ruffles – approx. 1870-1880

6.        The man is wearing glasses.
