On June 25, 2019, Ruth and Rudy Tafel celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. To celebrate the occasion they boarded a cruise ship that took them to the island of Bermuda, Boston, Portsmith Maine, and Bar Harbor Maine.

On their return home, their milestone was celebrated during the 4th of July festivities.
