We are saddened to share the news of the passing of Jim Tafel on June 25, 2014. In the top picture sitting in the first row are James Tafel Jr (son), Jim Tafel, and Ida Mae Tafel (wife). In the second row is Julie Klaus (daughter), Rudy Tafel, and Ruth Tafel. Over the years, Jim has wowed us with his accomplishments in the horse racing field. The middle picture on the left is of Street Smarts. This was Jim's horse that won the Kentucky Derby in 2007. The bottom picture is of Old Blue, another one of Jim's thoroughbreds, that thrilled the family at the Louisville family reunion in 1992 by winning the race at Churchilll Downs. Jim's love of his family and horses will be missed.
