In March 2008, Derek Tafel performed with his High School Concert Choir in several locations in the Republic of China. 

The choir performed formal concerts under the direction of Maestro Dilworth at the Shanghai Oriental Arts Center and the Beijing Forbidden City Concert Hall.

The choir also performed additional concerts at the Tian Anmen Square, Great Wall, and Beijing High School.
